Clapham has become a popular place for young professionals to meet for brunch at the weekends. The main high street, and the area around the common is filled with delicious restaurants which are known for their great brunches! This post lists some of the top places to go for brunch in Clapham.

1. Minnow

Minnow restaurant is directly opposite Clapham Common, and has lots of seating outside (check out the photo below). It’s one of my favourite brunch places for the summer months. Their prices are also really reasonable! You can get an “express brunch” which includes poached eggs on toast, any hot drink and fresh orange juice for £10.

Minnow is open for brunch seven days a week, and also serves cocktails like Bloody Marys and Mimosas. Some of their brunch options include French toast with maple syrup, smashed avocado on sourdough toast, and vegan options like porridge or coconut yoghurt.

Megan’s is the perfect place if you want to go for brunch in a large group, as they have plenty of space inside. Their brunch menu includes Turkish eggs, shakshorizo baked eggs and shakshouka baked eggs. At the weekends you can also get a N’duja Brunch Brioche which includes a brioche bun filled with n’duja, bacon, sausage, fried egg, cheddar & hash browns.

I always look for the vegetarian and vegan options when I go for brunch, and Megan’s has both a full veggie and full vegan brunch, as well as a Turkish brunch feast which is vegetarian.

Must-try: The veggie brunch is great! It comes with eggs, grilled halloumi, smashed avocado, steamed spinach, and toast.

If you like Megan’s, they have other restaurants located in Balham and Wimbledon.

3. Willows

Willows has one of the best brunch menus I’ve seen! You build your own brunch by picking options from the following categories: bakery, dairy, protein and greens. You can choose between 3-5 options.

When I went I picked one option from the bakery (sourdough bread), two protein options (scrambled eggs and smoked salmon), and one green (avocado).

I think Willows do one of the best brunches in the Clapham area, as their menu is a little different and lets you create the exact meal that you want. The “build your own” style brunch means each option comes on a separate little plate on a wooden board.

Must-try: The banana bread is delicious and comes with vanilla mascarpone, white chocolate crumb, and berry compote.

4. No 32 The Old Town

32 The Pavement, London, SW4 0JF. Tel: 020 3535 0910

No 32 The Old Town has a large roof terrace which is great in the summer months, as well as seating directly outside. It’s also nice and cozy inside for colder days. I think this is one of the best brunch spots for views of Clapham Common as the roof terrace overlooks the common.

This restaurant serves all the traditional brunch options like eggs royale, eggs benedict, and a house breakfast. They also have shakshouka, sweetcorn and courgette hash, and a plant based breakfast. Their buttermilk pancakes are also very popular.

Must-try: Avocado Green Goddess on Wildfarmed Sourdough Toast
